Shades of Gray

Of all the ice-breaker questions there are, the one I dread most is "what's your favorite color?" This is because my favorite color is gray and saying that usually doesn't go over well.

Over the years, I have received responses either dripping with concern, or with the inclination that they now assume I have the personality of a saltine cracker. But gray is both underrated and underutilized in the "favorite color" game. It is a neutral with more variations than black and white, and yet matches with both!

Because of my deep and undying love for this hue, I hue-talized it from top to bottom of my outfit today for romping around Dublin (oh yeah! I'm in Dublin! More on that later this week!)

Tee: Gap // Jeans: AE // Jacket: Penney's (Dublin) // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff // Shoes: Vintage

Hat: Vince Camuto // Necklace: J.Crew (similar)

Get it...like speaking dialogue....?!?! no?

Footwear Friday! Loafin' Around

" Loafers", "Smoking Slippers", "Mocassins", or just plain old ambiguous "flats". These shoes have many names, and as is apparent by the multitude of options out there, many different styles as well. Whether you're into tassels, studs, stripes, or even patent leather, there is a pair out there for you.

Take it from an avid wearer, that I feel infinitely more sophisticated when donning a pair. I also feel as though I should be in a robe, swirling brandy next to a roaring fire in an old Victorian mansion. But that might just be me...

Here are some of my favorites!

Matchy Matchy

In the mad rush to get ready for my god-awfully early class (10:30a.m...) I have to be honest, I was just looking to clothe myself with some sense of style with the least amount of effort.

It wasn't until I left the building, that I looked down, to be honest, to do a zipper fly check, and realized that my peach and gold flats matched my peach pants and gold belt exactly.

I was immediately appalled, then intrigued by the matched qualities, then appalled again.

I can't decide if I love or hate this, I'm so conflicted.
